members covenant

The Members Covenant is based around the 4Ms of Soma. All of our members agree to it when they join Soma!

I have committed myself to making Jesus Christ the centre of what I do and how I live my life and therefore will seek to eradicate sin from my life.
I will seek to please God and grow in my concern for Him, His people and His World more and more.
I will, by God’s strength, seek to magnify God more and more in my life by word and deed but will not to seek God’s approval and justification through my life because Jesus Christ has already given me that justification.

I am committed to work with this church to make the message of Jesus known to the world.
I am committed to praying for the world and those who do not know Jesus.

As a member of this church I will seek to be committed to this community by:

Being committed to praying for the community of this church.
Seeking to give thoughtfully, prayerfully and generously to this church and the wider work of the Gospel as a reflection of what God has given me.
Seek to grow in my relationship with Jesus by regularly reading the Scriptures, and
praying.
Encouraging, where I can, the unity of this and the wider Christian church.
Hold to the truths upheld in the Bible and summarized in the doctrinal statement.

I am committed to the principle of serving the people around me.
I will seek to join a Gospel community group.
I will seek to come to church, small groups and events regularly.
When I do take time to spend with others who do not know Jesus, I will let people at church know so the church can support and pray for me.
